Digital BW, The Print

The D100 is based on an F80 body just like the S2, but as they're Nikon they 
could change the body to make for a better solution, hence their "only shares 
some components" quote from http://www.dpreview.com/articles/nikond100/

The D100 nonemclature is pure marketing guff - I've seen lots of people think 
that it's based on the F100 because of the number...
