The QTR ink limit must be too high for that printer.  I used an 1800 to make the profiles and don't know how similar the drivers are.  Recall also that the limits are specific to the paper type.  So, if you're using a paper other than the one the profile was made for, the profile may be inappropriate.

If you bought MIS Eboni carts for the "3 MK" approach described here -- http://www.paulroark.com/BW-Info/R1800.htm -- you can interchange the chips on the carts and use the PK and Glop position carts in the MK position.  I use a small piece of tape across the top of the chip to hold it in place.  Never insert a cart with no chip or you're liable to wreck the printer.  So, be sure the interchanged chips are securely held onto the carts.
