Digital BW, The Print

Sorry to interrupt all those fond memories about the good old days when 
serious inkjet printing just about started (2002)...  :-)

May I reformulate my question:
What does one do with a perfectly good 2100-2200 in the year 2011?
- dump it? (was kind of too expensive for that)
- run it with OEM UltraChrome inks
   (how long will Epson produce them? Cost!)
- use some 3rd party inks >> Which ones?
- buy refillable carts to be ready one day to put in whatever?
- ...
