The 1400 is a far more flexible and better photo platform.

The Epson WorkForce printers, like the 1100, are aimed at the business user. They are amazingly fast at text printing, and their head arrangement is made for that -- mostly black ink, and little devoted to "color" -- which would be the midtone grays.

QTR does not support the WorkForce printers. So, I've made some basic curves that can be used directly or in an ICC to get quite good matte prints and reasonable glossy prints (when PK is loaded). However, the native ink limits of the 1100 are not very good. So, printing with no profile is not going to produce very good prints.

The bottom line is that I'd only buy one of these if the primary use was business printing. I'll put together a minimalist PDF with some basic profiles, but the printer isn't good enough to get a very high priority of my time.
