One thing you could try now that I think about it is to limit the ink globally in QTR. If you click on the advanced setting you can do that. Try reducing it a lot on the first try and do a test print to see if that does anything. If it does you can fine tune that slider and save setting. However, usually that effects dmax and potential shadow detail, not banding issues but it is worth a try. Also trying a different black ink cart, especially if it is old ink. j --- In DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com, "dlruckus" <dlruckus@...> wrote: > > Hi Shilesh, > Have you looked at a QTR calibration print made using all of the inks to see if it's only the grays doing this or perhaps just some of the inks and not all? > I experienced something like this a couple of weeks ago on a 4000 I was putting back into use. It was cured by lowering the viscosity of the offending black just slightly. The ink had been sitting on a shelf for about 8 months through the summer in a partial bottle and I think had thickened a bit. > > Regards, > Duane > > > --- In DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com, "shileshjani" <janishilesh@> wrote: > > > > > Curiously, this QTR banding at 2880 dpi print shows up only on matte papers (all gray levels) and not on Epson Exhibition Fiber or Ilford GFS.
