I purchased a set of UT-14 inks and am confused about the vent port in the cartridge. I opened a ticket at Inksupply (16 March), as well as communicated with them (21 March) via email support but have not received an answer to my question. Following is my question: 'I installed the ink cartridges and am puzzled. The label on each cartridge state "do not remove" the vent plug but the instruction sheet packed with cartridge states "Remove vent plug before installing the cartridge." If you remove the vent plug, the vent hole is about 2.5 mm in diameter. This seems rather large and will contribute to evaporation & possible ink splashing. The vent plug has a blind hole in the top center. This is about 3-4 mm deep. Why not cut off the bottom of the plug to open the hole as the vent. There also seems to be a line around the barrel of the plug at the level of the bottom of the hole. Your knowledge base states 'remove the vent plug.' Based on the blind hole in the vent plug, I will postulate, this is the vent hole after the hole is either drilled out, punctured or the end of the plug cut off to reveal the hole." My printer is on "hold" until I have an answer to this question. I am a little disappointed in the Inksupply support center but based on other prior support issues with other Inksupply inkset, I will assume this lack of response to my support question is an exception and not the norm.' Can anyone answer this question? Thanks, Rod
