Hello,

 Vent plug must be removed while using the carts in the printer, and 
 must be put on the cart just before removing the fill plug.
 Just follow this instruction: 
 http://www.inksupply.com/instructions/r260_slc_refill.pdf
 Note: you need to pull ink (steps 3 and 4) on ly if the cart is brand 
 new or totally empty.
