David,

I'm not sure why you would suspect that the particular monochromatic inkset
(OVI's) would result in black-only prints. The OVI ink densities and
probably the ink order are certainly different that IJM, MIS, or K3s (for a
reason), but that wouldn't cause only the black channel to fire - the
software would. If you getting nozzle checks that are representative of what
inks are in the carts, then the printer and inks are fine.

Sometimes the QTR profiles do not install correctly on the Mac and you can
get black prints - I've heard of it happening twice. Reinstallation and/or
a different file format (QIDF vs. QUAD) should solve it. I am going to send
you instructions and a new QIDF file offline. In the meantime I would
suggest that you keep the QTR tech posts confined to the QTR forum where the
expertize in these matters in concentrated.

Still getting absolutely nowhere. Is anyone printing from a Mac, with
Photoshop CS5 using B&W only inks (not UC and not Piezo) through QTR?

I need to know all the settings used as my images are printing with black
(MK) ink only.
