I'm not familiar with the Jim Nivens curves, so I can't comment on
what might be "wrong" with your current process. I have had wonderful
results with the Jeff Randall workflow, which can be found
in "files/inksets, reviews and techniques/MIS FS/1160 partitioned
workflow" in this newsgroup. Might be worth a try.
