The 1800s can be fantastic printers and they can also be real pain in the necks with clogging problems. They also seem to be very uneven from one unit to the next. (I've had three of them). If you wanted one to play with, (8 channels can give you a lot of options), I'd say go for it, but as a replacement for the 1400 (which came after the 1800 and where Epson seems to have worked most of the bugs out of the 1.5 pl printers) I think you could be very disappointed.
