My apologies for posting about something that had been posted before. It was new to me and very exciting when I saw it. I hadn't thought about patent issues or even cultural differences. What went through my mind was wondering if Espon were testing the concept and hoping it might spread to other markets. Thinking on it now I see it was reckless of me to hope for such things.
