Re: Recommendation please

Paul as usual you are most gracious in responding to pedestrian questions. I broke down this morning and purchased an epson 3000 that comes with 300 dollar rebate which put it under my 600 dollar limit. I have been purchasing over the years the MIS inksets and following many of your threads and advice. My prints are largely on fine art papers with an occasional glossy print for friends. It would be nice if epson would develop cartridges that had their own nozzles. Or easily replaceable nozzles.

On that note if you have any suggestions how to keep those damn nozzles clean when a printer sits I would also appreciate your thoughts and advice.

Thanks again

Joe

It's hard to make a recommendation without knowing more about needs in terms of print style and image permanence. On this forum many of us accept the hassle of at least filling carts as a worthwhile compromise that brings us lots of options and lower prices.

With the "EZ" (what I now call "K2-Quad") approach one only needs 2 bottles of inks -- K and LK. But, it does require user mixing. (See http://www.paulroark.com/BW-Info/WF30-BW-Dye.pdf and http://www.paulroark.com/BW-Info/1100-Dye.pdf) I use the WF 1100 for my default home office printer. I was just told off line that they can be purchased for as little as $99 now.
