Digital BW, The Print

I am replacing an Epson SP 2200 with an R3000. I have been using QRT and
printing on Premier Fine Art paper with the 2200. The ink set is Epson
OEM with matte black.  I never used photo black ink in the 2200. Here is
the question: If the photo black cartridge is installed in the R3000 as
part of the complete set and never used, what are the long-term
ramifictions? Is it possible to use the R3000 without the photo black
cartridge installed at all?
