What it does is write a few things to the EPROMS in the printer. The printer literally keeps track of cleaning cycles. This can be reset in a jiffy by special software, which only runs on Win98 through LPT port. BUT, you have to somehow get the software to rewrite the EPROMS from an Epson tech, and I haven't been able to do this yet. If I could I could changeout my own printheads in an hour or three, as the software also runs three special alignments on the printhead. If I remember, the EPROMS can also be told where the printer was destined for, ie, USA or Timbucktoo.<g> Jim H.
