I have Epson shop manual for the 860 which also "sort of" covers the
1160. What it does is write a few things to the EPROMS in the printer.
The printer literally keeps track of cleaning cycles. This can be
reset in a jiffy by special software, which only runs on Win98 through
LPT port. BUT, you have to somehow get the software to rewrite the
EPROMS from an Epson tech, and I haven't been able to do this yet. If
I could I could changeout my own printheads in an hour or three, as
the software also runs three special alignments on the printhead.

If I remember, the EPROMS can also be told where the printer was
destined for, ie, USA or Timbucktoo.<g>
