If you make a mask that covers the edges of the film frame and do the preview + fix the exposure setting on the measurement and then scan with the mask off. Would be possible with Vuescan but I guess with Epsonscan too. Another question; do you scan on the glass bed of the scanner and is that in best focus on your 4990?
