The Adobe has more linear grayscale to RGB mapping in the shadow tones; sRGB compresses these. You could probably use Adobe RGB and just made a simple curve to adjust for the differences -- with respect to quads, no guess as to what would happen in color. >2. That would make it, in effect, a free RIP -- which is probably why Epson didn't give that to us. The problem with the Epson driver is that it "talks" RGB. When CMYK files are sent to it, it first translated them to RGB (then back to CMYK). In the translation, we lose a lot on control compared to starting with an RGB file and making the adjustments on that file.
