RE: [Digital BW] Platinum/Palladium look

2012-06-17 by E.Neilsen

I'll tell you what I do to make it. With QTRs handy 100 step scale, I open
up the ABW setting and dial in some settings until it gets close to a range,
and there you have it. Different papers require more or less Dmax, . I'll
get you close on Monday. I don't have it saved on this computer.

If one has a profile maker, Profile Maker 5, Datacolor equipment, etc, you
can certainly make a profile to do the same thing and I have. This is the
down and dirty way for just using the ABW.

Anytime someone wants to do a PT/PD print match, I would question whose
prints that they have seen so I could get them a little closer to
expectations.

And as Paul started to go towards, the special ink sets vs standard color
sets... how are you trying to get there; the look.

Eric, would you mind sharing your 4800 ABW settings for platinum/palladium?
