Hi again :) So after researching what's available in terms of 13" printers, it seems that a refurbished 1270 won't cost me much more than a used 1200, and the 1270 has OSX drivers, which is a plus. My only concern - I know that the 1270 uses the "chipped" cartridges designed to prevent 3rd parties from making inks for it - has anyone tried the MIS prefilled cartridges in this printer? I assume that they wouldn't offer the cartridges if they didn't work, but before I buy a system I want to make sure I'm getting something that will be reliable for printing hextones. (I'm determined to use my 2000p for color work, so the 1270 would be a dedicated BW printer) Scouting prices on ebay it seems that 1200s and 1160s are pretty pricey, perhaps because they're easier to use with CIS systems? Seems to me that having a printer with up-to-date drivers would be an advantage, especially since Photoshop 7 is going to be OSX native.
