The MIS dye is not the Claria/Noritsu dye that I recommend. Old style dyes fade very quckly. Even the Claria/Noritsu dyes fade faster than a good carbon-based inkset. A post-printing spray that seals the Claria/Noritsu dyes is necessary to bring even the advanced dyes up into the range of Epson UC color prints in terms of fading. See the fade test results at http://www.aardenburg-imaging.com/ If you click on the top of the Conservation Display Rating, that puts the results in order by that column. Then you can see at a quick glance how the various Claria tests do compared to other ink-paper combination. The Print Shield Spray makes a huge difference. But, again, this is Claria -- which I suspect is way different than MIS dyes. Some of the relevant testing is summarized in this screen grab, including Wilhelm's -- http://www.paulroark.com/BW-Info/Claria-Fade-Tests.jpg I don't recommend any dyes for long term, fine art type display. However, the Claria on Canson, sprayed with Print Shield, did surprisingly well in the Aardenburg-Imaging test. I have used un-sprayed Claria for cards, printed on the Red River metallic paper, that have been displayed for a year without any fade or color change that is apparent in casual viewing. (I have not done a comparison to a dark storage card.)
