Digital BW, The Print

Hi all,

I currently run two epson 1400's, one using eboni 6 cart and one standard dyes. Recently the b&w printer has become possessed. It runs its startup sequence multiple times, at random. There is also a high pitched whine that comes from it when printing. When I use it, sometimes I get a full print, sometimes it stops and ejects the paper midway. I have reinstalled the driver several times, no change. Any suggestions? And if I do replace it, what would you recommend? I want the quality of the 1400 as far as image is concerned. My understanding is that the 1400 had the best image for a 13" printer. If there is a better choice now, I would live to know about it.
