Hi Mat, Sources for alternate inks and empty refillable carts and pre-filled carts are: inkjetmall.com particularly for the piezography inks inksupply.com for a very wide range of B&W alternate inks I also suggest that you look at Paul Roark's web site (http://www.paulroark.com) and particularly his articles on B&W inks. Especially look at his carbon 6, which you can mix yourself from ink supply.com's ebony matt black ink. Paul uses it on Arches watercolor papers. I think that the carts for the 3800/3880 have enough capacity that a CIS isn't really needed, but that's just my opinion.
