I don't know which company's chips you're looking at, but with MIS/Inksupply.com, the desktop printers seem to all use the auto-reset types. It's nice to not have to mess with a resetter and resetting, but the auto-reset chips/carts end up being out of sync in that the status monitor does not show how much ink is in the cart.
