The inks themselves are easy.  It appears to be a rather standard Epson K3
printer.  I don't know of people who have profiles, but since QTR supports
the printer, re-linearizing other K3 printer profiles should work.  Also,
QTR is not that hard to learn for profiling.  See the flatbed
scanner abbreviated procedure I've used at

The short answer is that the 3800 should work fine, as long as you can get
good carts.
