This happened to me about a year ago. As a last ditch effort I cleaned everything up, and changed all the cartridges. It worked. Have not had another issue since. I believe that the issue was caused by the carriage sticking for a few seconds which resulted in the ink dumping on the paper. Cannot prove that, just my opinion after witness the occurrence. Might try clean up then changing the cartridge color that leaked all over the paper.
