Is my old 2200 dead?

Is my old 2200 dead?

2013-04-19 by elixirs4me

My dear ol' Epson 2200 started coughing up black ink all over the paper about halfway thru a print today.

Ran a couple of cleaning cycles then did a test pattern. Nothing but a black stripe across the page. Several times.

I'm afraid this could spell the end for my old friend. Any ideas for a possible remedy for this situation? Or is it time to start looking for the replacement?

Thanks for any ideas....

Ol' Don

It sounds like it's time for a new printer.

This happened to me about a year ago. As a last ditch effort I cleaned everything up, and changed all the cartridges. It worked. Have not had another issue since.

I believe that the issue was caused by the carriage sticking for a few seconds which resulted in the ink dumping on the paper. Cannot prove that, just my opinion after witness the occurrence.

Might try clean up then changing the cartridge color that leaked all over the paper.
