Silverfast Ai 5.5 with negafix is fantastic software. I use it on both a Polaroid Sprintscan 120 and Epson 1600. It's great if you want to scan film, for both B&W and color. But I do professional work so I use it alot. If you're just doing hobby stuff, you can certainly get by without it. Plus,if you're not scanning negs, the SE version will probably be all you need. Most of your correction work is best done in PS 6.0 anyway. I'd like to calibrate my system & know that I can get a calibrated target from Wolf Faust for $15, so that is an easy way to get that. > > Not sure this is the place to ask, but should I get the Ai upgrade? I'm only planning to do max 8by10 mostly B&W, but I have another printer to do color for wifey's shots of the grandkids. > > Thanks for any thoughts. > > Cheers, > > Carl > > > [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
