I agree with Ben. I do not like automatic withdraws. I do pay on line  from 
my bank account but I do it when I want. I like to be in control and look  
at my bill (electricity, phone..) before I pay. I’d rather argue with them 
if  it is incorrect before I pay than after the fact when I get my  statement.

You have got it bad! You really mean that you don't pay anything by direct  
debit? I've been paying most of my utility bills, bank transfers, credit  
card payments, etc, etc, by direct debit ever since they invented direct  
debits. I often get discount for doing so, since any other method of  
payment 
is far more labour intensive and costly. Never had a problem; and  if I did 
the banks, and businesses will cover the cost - its in the direct  debit 
agreements.
