RE: [Digital BW] Epson 1400 Error Message

2014-01-13 by Edward Wiseman

Hi Homer..

Mine stopped printing altogether after making a few prints “beyond” the waste tank warning message..I did the re-set once that happened, and things have been going well since..That was about 6 months ago....I guess I’m saying it “needs to quit” soon following the message.( from MY experience at least)..Let me know how it goes..

Subject: [Digital BW] Epson 1400 Error Message

My roughly three year old 1400, which is working perfectly, is giving me an error message, "Parts within your printer have exceeded their normal life expectancy." (Or something like that, I'm not a the printer right now.) But, the printer goes ahead and prints whatever I'm printing without issues.

This is not the same as the waste tank errors, which required a reset before the machine would continue to print. I have a 1400 workshop manual and this message is not mentioned. Does anyone know what this is referring to and is it significant that I should chase it down?
