I am trying to print a copy of a 19th century wood engraving -- you can see the image on this page: http://www.marquis-kyle.com.au/mt/002036.php The fine near-parallel engraved lines produce disturbing moir\ufffd patterns in the print in areas of similar tone, such as in parts of the sky. The same problem, in more extreme form, can be seen in various magnifications of the zoomify image on the web page. Can anyone here give me some ideas for processing the image to avoid this problem in the print, while retaining as much detail as possible? I'm using Photoshop CS6 Extended to make a gray scale TIF, for printing on an Epson R2400 on Hahnemuhle PhotoRag via QuadtoneRIP. -- Peter Marquis-Kyle
