I feel a bit of a traitor for saying this, but I ended up with Jon Cone's carts. I had to return the MIS arts twice before I got a set that was recognized. I must say MIS was very fair about this. This third set however is the auto-reset variety and I prefer to manually reset them. Jon had his carts with chips make to his specs, including the manual resettable feature as found in earlier sets. They've never had ink in them, just cleaning fluid with a tiny amount of red dye ink to make the nozzle checks visible. In this set, all carts were easily recognized and nozzle checks were clean. I've flushed them, but they could use another flush... it sounds like you'd be using them for b/w printing. You could try them out before paying for them.Paul
