Source for Refillable Cartridges

2014-08-16 by vsr98@...

I ordered a set of refillable cartridges along with Eboni 6 inks for my Epson 1430, from inksupply.com. Unfortunately, they don't work very well. Some of them work fine for a while and then return the error that they aren't original cartridges, while some of them produce that error right away.

In any case, I now have ink but no cartridges that work. I will try refilling the original set I have (which I purchased pre-filled).

Anyone have suggested sources for refillable cartridges for the Epson 1400 besides inksupply.com?

Thanks,

Vijay

For the 1430 Inkjetmall cartridges that I'm using, it is a matter of
taking them out and re-inserting. May require unplugging the printer for
this process. I believe this is epson's way of letting you know, it
knows they are not official epson inks. After some fussing they are
recognized.

Same thing here. The first insertion was OK. At my first refilling, I had to fill, start, stop and reinsert the cartridges. Now, from time to time, the printer is showing that a cartridge is empty and actually is not. This is normal I think. AllI do is take off the offending cartridge, reinsert it and away we go. BTW at the same time I check all the levels and refill the cartridges.

I feel a bit of a traitor for saying this, but I ended up with Jon Cone's carts. I had to return the MIS arts twice before I got a set that was recognized. I must say MIS was very fair about this. This third set however is the auto-reset variety and I prefer to manually reset them. Jon had his carts with chips make to his specs, including the manual resettable feature as found in earlier sets. Here's the link to Jon's:http://shopping.netsuite.com/s.nl/c.362672/sc.11/category.34585/.fI also had to buy their resetter. If you'd like to buy that third MIS set I'd let them go for $15 (less than half the original price) with shipping included. They've never had ink in them, just cleaning fluid with a tiny amount of red dye ink to make the nozzle checks visible. In this set, all carts were easily recognized and nozzle checks were clean. I've flushed them, but they could use another flush... it sounds like you'd be using them for b/w printing. You could try them out before paying for them.Paul

As I hope we will be able to see in this response of mine to Paul (Whiting’s) posts, his rendition of the link still looks truncated. But it worked for me in its first incarnation. Nevertheless, I suspect that isolating links meant to stay live is a good precaution, even if you do it only by enclosing the link (w/o any quotation marks [or spaces]) between “<“ on the left and “>” on the right.

I'm having trouble making that link stand apart from the text. The link ends with a "dot f" and my following text is right next to that... I can't seem to make the link stand alone. Sorry!By the way, I'm still loyal to MIS in that I continue to buy their ink, syringes, etc.I'll try the ink at the end of this message instead of the middle:Paul http://shopping.netsuite.com/s.nl/c.362672/sc.11/category.34585/.f

My "buried" link worked after all, and it worked for me as well! Still, I do appreciate your tip on surrounding the link with < and >. I'll try that next time I need to post a link! Thanks,Paul

Thanks for the tip, Michael, but I tried that... it's as if all the spaces were somehow eliminated. You can see that happening throughout the post. Maybe it's something in my setup parameters in this particular group.I see a "insert link" up there among the icons, above this text box, maybe I'll try that next time.

Paul

Thanks Lincoln. Your suggestion to unplug the printer helped. All the cartridges are recognized but the ink level monitoring doesn't work. At least I can print!
