This is the label from the Arches I use:

while the paper is a warm one. Measured with a non-UV cut Eye One Pro."
If I am reading this right, the Lab B dropped from 6.9 for the paper white
to 2.1 for the 1:5 Eboni:OCP dilution, applied by a brush.
With a similar dilution of Eboni with the generic base version C6c, I get
37, 1.6, 2.4 on a paper with a white reading of 95, 0.7, 2.7. With an
older Calibration print the 18% (Eb6M) Eboni to total base + ink
concentration at the 75% patch measures 27, 1.1, 2.2. (Spyder 3 color
meter)
I'm not sure I've ever seen a reduction of the Lab B in actual printing
aside from the 100% black point. So, if you're actually seeing a cooling
of the tone in an area aside from an area of very dense coverage, something
interesting may be going on.
I wonder what that OPC gloss optimizer has in it. The MIS version has a
binder in it. That is what allows their non-coated pigments to stick to
the paper. I believe the Epson gloss optimizer might have clear particles
in it. Something that stays on top of the paper has to be in a gloss
optimizer for it to do its job. So, the questions I would have about the
OCP GO are: What is in it, and will that substance change with time and
light exposure?
