The K6 ink set sounds like good advise. I definitely want my printer to be as trouble free as possible. Thanks for the advice. This is K6 rather than K7 and in the Yellow slot where shade 7 would normally go, you put the PK shade 1. You put Piezoflush in the unused PK cartridge. > > The official InkJetMall line is you don't need P2 in printers with switchable blacks, but by golly life is a whole lot simpler. > > In my experience it's nearly impossible to see the benefit of shade 7 - perhaps you might in a very large high-key print, and even then only if you look very closely. With this setup, you don't have to do the MP/PK swap at all, which makes dealing with the issues that Jeff experienced a heck of a lot simpler and less wasteful of ink. > > Also, if the printer has had colour inks in it, you'll have next-to-no problem with residual staining from the yellow ink, whereas if you install shade 7 in there, you will need to print a lot on that channel to clear it. If you've had colour in there for some time, it's amazing how long the dampers will release small amounts of yellow. > >
