I just purchased the R3000 and plan on converting it to piezography's black ink. I don't want to it if it is going to cause me trouble. My concern is the very small nozzle size. Michael Nagle 513-461-1143

Thanks for the advise. I like the enhanced print quality but don't want clogging problems. The article you gave me a link to had some good information / precautions to prevent clogs. Again thanks, Michael Nagle 513-461-1143

All printers with ink lines need regular use to avoid sedimentation. That includes switching the blacks and printing both matte and gloss. That way, you will get repeatable prints. You can read more about it here: Progress along the path to Piezography > > Progress along the path to Piezography > Progress along the path to Piezography 22nd August 2015 It has been an interesting time learning the wonders of b&w printing in general and Piezograph... > View on jeffgrant.photium.com > Preview by Yahoo > > > >

The K6 ink set sounds like good advise. I definitely want my printer to be as trouble free as possible. Thanks for the advice. Michael Nagle 513-461-1143

This is K6 rather than K7 and in the Yellow slot where shade 7 would normally go, you put the PK shade 1. You put Piezoflush in the unused PK cartridge. > > The official InkJetMall line is you don't need P2 in printers with switchable blacks, but by golly life is a whole lot simpler. > > In my experience it's nearly impossible to see the benefit of shade 7 - perhaps you might in a very large high-key print, and even then only if you look very closely. With this setup, you don't have to do the MP/PK swap at all, which makes dealing with the issues that Jeff experienced a heck of a lot simpler and less wasteful of ink. > > Also, if the printer has had colour inks in it, you'll have next-to-no problem with residual staining from the yellow ink, whereas if you install shade 7 in there, you will need to print a lot on that channel to clear it. If you've had colour in there for some time, it's amazing how long the dampers will release small amounts of yellow. > >

. This IJM page says that P2 isn't necessary for the R3000. You may also be told this by IJM sales. Not necessary, but it certainly works and is much, much simpler, as per my previous post.
