There are lots of people using the 3000 for Piezography. As I understand it, it is a 3880 without some of the features. I wouldn't be worrying about the nozzle size.
What you do need to worry about is sedimentation. All printers with ink lines need regular use to avoid sedimentation. That includes switching the blacks and printing both matte and gloss. That way, you will get repeatable prints. You can read more about it here:
