I fire it up 2 - 3 times a week, usually just a nozzle check. If I get a bad pattern (worse than the one I described in my original post), I'll run a cleaning routine or two. Sometimes I'll run a print.

Note: since my last post, I discovered a setting in my camera for adjusting the sharpness. It's at a default setting, which most users on the Internet say is too soft. On a scale of 0 - 9, the default setting is 3 and most folks bump it up to around 5.

This is very encouraging news... I was picturing a worst case, where I had to send it to Nikon. I'm going to shoot with a setting of 5 for a while and report back. It may be a while.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
