Re: [Digital BW] MIS Inks / Printer Revival

2017-08-29 by David Whistance

If I were you I'd hold out for MIS as the other alternatives may be quicker but are also much more expensive. You should also try some flushing fluid in some empty cartridges as in my experience that can revive even very badly clogged printers. My 2100 hadn't been used for nearly 5 years and was totally clogged but MIS flushing fluid cleared it out over about a fortnight - you do have to be patient though. Whereabouts are you? If you are in the EC I have some old G-Quad inks you could try in your 2000, I think the relevant profiles are still part of the QTR download for older printers. They will need to be thoroughly agitated to disperse the pigment again though as I've had them for a while. I think the basic ink was from the same source used by MIS but they were not designed by Paul. I successfully used them for a while but preferred a multiple carbon inkset similar to EB6 as I favour warmer prints on matte paper.

Good luck whatever you do.
