Re: [Digital BW] Attention Friends

2002-03-15 by John

Good Morning,

I think this policy sounds very fair.

While I personally have no problem with his posting the web site the first
time, I do feel posting it again this soon may be overdoing it since it does
seem to be off topic as far as digital B&W prints are concerned.

Sincerely,

John in OKC

| Without sounding harsh to the link poster, I agree with Sam, Nij,
| Dickbo, and others who complained about his form of "spam," and I am
| withdrawing my support for him.
|
| Just dissing this guy sounded wrong to me at first, but he really does
| not have any real B&W work on his site (except for a few restorations).
| More importantly, he does not seem to be into "B&W Prints" and does not
| participate in discussion on this list.
|
| Reviewing general habits on many lists, I have come to the conclusion
| that only active participants on a list deserve the right to post their
| links, and only when their work is on topic.
|
| Last week we had a few incidents with spammers and I just could not come
| up with a general rule that would be fair to all until now. I recommend
| list owners to review this idea. I will certainly implement it on my
| lists.
