I notice a recurring problem that needs care when I switch from MIS VM
to Epson inks and back, but it is managable. I didn't have it happen
with the 1160 for some reason, but with the 1280. This is only my own
experience, I would just ask you at least watch for "blobbing"- it
will save you a time-consuming printer bed cleaning:

After switching either way it is very wise for me to not run a print
or even a nozzle check. Put heavy paper in the printer, by which I
mean something at least as thick as Heavyweight matte, or if you have
Epson archival matte that you can burn up, that's fine too. No "plain
paper".

No nozzle check- do two cleanings, cancel out of nozzle check. After
the two cleanings, print the MIS purge6 pattern in draft mode 360 dpi)
on the paper. Keep the printer cover up and watch for blobs of ink at
the left side of paper- if you see it, cancel print and run another
cleaning cycle.

After this, do a purge print at 1440 dpi on the heavy paper and watch
for ink blobs again. If they start to form cancel print and do one or
two cleanings, this time I think it might be okay to do a nozzle check
in-between, as this will make the 2nd cleaning a little more intense.
But if you ever did get blobbing, it should be disapearing by now, if
it hasn't right at the beginning. I wouldn't do any more cleanings
after this either, that's plenty.

Well, that's based on my own limited experience with switching inks.
You may not get the problem. It really is easier to clear than you
would think though. I sometimes wonder if it is just my 1280 that does
this.
