Austin Thanks for your input -- I didn't mean for you to take on fixing my problem but I appreciate your help. If I don't print for a couple of days the printer clogs (ink missing on head check). This is my second set of carts. The first set worked perfectly -- never any problems at all. Actually it worked so well I just could not see or understand how everybody was getting clogs etc. then I put in the new carts (second set) then the clogging started. When I use the swimmers ear all is well and stays ok for a few days (a few longer than when I use Windex). But eventually I get the clog again. The printer is an Epson 880 (4 color unit 8.5 x 11). This is only the second set of carts in the unit -- i started using this Epson with B&W inkset Thanks don ----- Original Message ----- From: Austin Franklin To: DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com Sent: Thursday, March 21, 2002 12:51 PM Subject: RE: [Digital BW] Re: 1270 Head cleaning > The pad seems to be intact -- maybe I need a new pad -- does > Epson sell these -- has anyone actually changed out a pad ????? Hi Don, I would doubt that you need a new pad, but it is possible... I'm sorry I haven't read everything you wrote on it, I was a bit busy with other "affairs" at the time...but what is the symptom? Do you quite frequently get clogs, as in mostly every day or two? Regards, Austin [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
