Re: [Digital BW] OT -- Cheap digital camera for kid

2002-03-25 by Steadman Uhlich

Paul,

How cheap is cheap?

For quality...I would buy an Olympus 3030 (or similar model) or Nikon 950 (or similar) or even....the brand spanking new Nikon 2500 for a digicam. The Olys and Nikon 9xx series could be found used. There must be a gazillion Nikon 9xx out there...as the owners upgrade often.

Of course if you want new...the Nikon 2500 is really snazzy looking for a 15 year old.

Check dpreview.com for up to date reviews and comments on all of them.

I might want to buy my 15 yr. old kid a cheap digital camera for screen-size
and print snapshots. Easy connection to PC with USB or other common
  connection would be good.

Any suggestions to a person who has never bothered to look at the cheap
snapshot market would be most welcome.

  Thanks.

  Paul
