Hi, Here is, what I consider, a very succinct picture that shows what largest and smallest mean with respect to the definition of dynamic range: http://www.darkroom.com/Images/DynamicRange01.jpg It shows "largest" being the overall largest amplitude that the signal can attain, and that "smallest" refers to the noise level within the signal. Hopefully this will clarify some terminology misunderstanding. Austin
