Folks, many of us are curious about the new Hahnemuhle Photo Rag. Steadman and I had the opportunity to try some test samples and were excited by the overall print quality. Both of us had the impression, that the color of the paper is very alike the color of German Etching/Orwell. Yesterday I got my first package of the final paper and was surprised to find it much whiter than the test samples. It is nearly but not quite as white as Epson AM, just a bit wamer (EAM seems to have a bluish tint in direct comparison). I called the Hahnemuhle guys and they told me that they dicided to make the paper whiter in the last minute because of many customer inquiries (so did I). That means, the paper hasn“t been shipped to the US yet, but shipping will beginn soon. I would recommend to order in advance, because in their old fashioned stile of paper production they can only make relatively small quantities if you compare it to the big factories. So resellers maybe sold out quickly. Bernd, who is not a H. employee, but happens to speak German ; - )
