I've been experimenting with Crane's Museo for printing off a 1270 with MIS VM inks (using the curves for the mac) .. the results are pretty good -- though not as good as a print on EAM ..
The EAM prints have better better range -- umm .. some details are visible in the EAM print that disappear in the museo print, in the darker regions -- i like the slightly warmer feel look of the museo print.
. can some of you share some of your experience and tips on getting the most out of this paper and ink combo -- (Crane's Museo) -- is anyone using a transfer function? -- i've also noticed a tendency of the meseo paper to develop shiny spots on the darkest blacks... you can only see them when the paper is angled at large angle to your light source.
the feel of the museo prints is very nice -- heavier than EAM and also has some texture -- the texture does affect the print, in a good way -- regions that appear flat in the EAM print develop some character in museo ... (its the texture affecting the perceived gray level) ..
.. these are my printing specs:
1270 - MIS VM - MAC Curves -- usually use the cool curve
Printing at 1440, paper selection is Photo Quality Inkjet Paper, Color settings are Photoshop v5 default.
