Paul - >So, the order of your inks sounds right. However, the magenta position >should be close to the toner. It may look just a little lighter, but not >much. Don't trust me on the relative density of the inks: I was working from memory since I don't have the nozzle check sheet in front of me. At least it seems the right inks are in the right places. >I have heard of partial blocks that could affect the print tones and yet >give a reasonable-looking nozzle check. What can happen, apparently, is >that a little screen in the head (the last chance to catch junk before it >gets to the nozzles) can become partially clogged. Although the lighter >tones might be affected most, it could affect the image anywhere. The nozzle checks are not just reasonable but perfect: every bar in each panel is continuous and solid, with no thin spots or spatters. Every other time I've had clogged nozzles, the first symptom was microbanding: when I first filled and installed the MIS VM cartridges, for example, the black panel had _one_ clogged nozzle, but that was enough to create a perceptible thin white line in dark areas of the print. I'm pretty sure the nozzles are _not_ one of my problems (yet). I'll let you know tomorrow what happens in response to the readjustment in color spaces.
