You need to install 10.1 first. Then you can install any of the later updates. Software update...if you use it...which I think you must if you are downloading...will determine what you need and what you don't. With system X, you never remove anything...just run the update. Although it is a little money...I like to buy the operating system periodically to have a disk to install from...but I'm assuming that you probably bought 10.1. In fact I believe that you had to unless it came with your machine. 10 to 10.1 was not a free upgrade (I think it cost me $29...and you had to buy...couldn't download).
