Re: [Digital BW] Canon S9000

Val
I have not tried to make a B&W print on the S9000 because I have other dedicated B&W printers setup. But I will attempt it over the next several days as time permits.

  Don or Other,

Isn't it possible to make good BW prints on s9000 with some effort in
PhotoShop (I read some tutorials which claim it is possible)? Or is it a
  waste of effort?

  Richard
A few days ago Paul Roark mentioned in a post that he had been talking to
the MIS people about inksets for Canon printers. There were working on it
but no real concrete dates to make it available. I bought the Canon anyway.
If and when MIS comes out with the inks I'll switch it over to B&W. For now
  I'll continue to use my Epson 880 (8.5 x11)

I'm very tempted by the S9000 too, but there does not seem to be any
availability of B&W inks for that printer. Where did you get the info that
3rd party ink mfgs were going to support the Canon?

That would be idea! Otherwise I'd have to go with Epson....

    Thanks,

The actual printing of images is quiet. Output a PDF I always use to
  evaluate printers / inks / papers -- set to glossy paper --a 8.5 x 11 print
took just under 2 minutes. I also output a 13 x 18 print and it took about 3
min 45 sec. There is an updated driver (version 1.52) at the Canon website
that also includes a profile for matte paper. I too can't wait for MIS
inksets to be out for this unit.
