Dick, Will the portraits be of adults or children and on the landscapes will you be doing much hiking? This has to do with the speed of operation and weight questions. While I love the Hasselblad, it gets real expensive real fast. I have seen the ads on the Mamiya 7 and it does look like a nice camera. I have owned several Mamiya medium formats in addition to the RB and have been happy with them. Since there are those on this group who have them and like them, that might be a very good choice. Since I have not been interested in other cameras other than what I normally use, I'm probably not up to speed like the others. I'm assuming the Mamiya 7 is a 6x7 format, the Blad is a 6x6 and if you are going to a "standard" size you should be able to use more of the negative, which is your goal of going to a larger format. Since I am new here, I am not familiar with what you have been using. Just as a question, I'm assuming you are using 35mm now, have you tried a fine grained film and developer?
