Re: [Digital BW] inks for the 7000 & Cone RIP

2001-08-24 by Jerry Olson

Steve, MIS makes a VM variable toned 4 color inkset too. I have a friend who just got paul's curves for it, so he can use it on his 1160.
But doesn't the 7000 also use 6 tones? Aren't the Photo Cyan and the Photo Magenta right next to the regular magenta and cyan cartridges,
only half as thick? That was my understanding.

I think Cone either doesn't use 6 colors for his 7000 piezo printers, or that 2 are the same tone as 2 others, so there's only 4 actual
tones used. (he couldn't run 2 colors without ink, orl he'd ruin the printheads, no?)

I'd just call Bob Zeiss at the MIS 800 number and ask him what to do in your case.

Not only 1500 for the software and a set of inks, but you need an IBM clone to even use the 7000 printer with his setup. It won't work on a
Mac. Since most graphic houses are mac, I don't get this at all.
