I would have never gotten to where I am now using curves...I simply don't have enough time to develop and tweak them for all the different papers that I would have liked to try. Having all of those paper profiles has allowed me to try so many papers with good results. In my opinion you simply don't get a feel for what quad printing can be if you only print on EAM. I think that imageprint looks like a good alternative...it allows considerably more control than the piezo driver, no microbanding and better dmax on the same papers. When the VM upgrade is ready...I'd say that would be the ultimate quad print engine. I'll report when I get a copy...but I trust Mike's appraisal using the FS-N inks.
